Jha is an orthopaedic surgeon by profession chose to utilise his professional surgical expertise for correcting the physical deformities of patients afflicted with poliomyelitis and other orthopaedic disorders to enable them to stand erect and walk properly with or without aids so that the country is not deprived of their precious potential as an earning member of the family and not remaining a burden to the family, society and the nation. Jha is a signing example of an ambassador from the medical fraternity on the world stage, who goes all out to serve the physically challenged persons all over India and even in neighbouring Nepal. He derives immense satisfaction and through his work is popular far and wide amongst the physically challenged. He has numerous national and international publications to his credit. He is a familiar face in the world of orthopaedic surgery with wider academic participation. Dr Jha has been serving the needy physically challenged patients in various parts of the country. He has been associated with various national and international societies and associations. He has been instrumental in supporting and upgrading the surgical fraternity. Serving for more than 25 years in the medical orthopaedic teaching fraternity in various medical colleges of Bihar (Darbhanga Medical College, Darbhanga, Patna Medical College, Patna, Nalanda Medical College, Patna, Sri Krishna Medical College, Muzaffarpur and Rajendra Medical College, Ranchi), he excelled in his passion for teaching and satisfying his hunger for serving the physically challenged outside the medical college with a missionary zeal.
